This web page is an attempt to summarize Part One of Essential Teachings, by His Holiness the Dalai Lama; Rupa & Co., 1996, which was adapted from oral teachings first given by the Dalai Lama to a group of Tibetan refugees in Bodh Gaya, India.
I am not a scholar, merely a compulsive collator/organizer/web-page-maker. This summary started as a page of notes for myself while studying the Thirty-seven Practices. Then turned into a web page on the chance it may be useful to others. (This seems to often happen with my notes — but usually they are about web development or programming!)
